# How to read schematic diagrams for circuits

The remainder of Lesson 4 will be devoted to a study of these two types of connections and the effect that they have upon electrical quantities such as current, resistance and electric potential.

A drawing of an electrical or electronic circuit is known as a circuit diagram, but can also be called a schematic diagram, or just schematic. An open switch is generally represented by providing a break in a straight line by lifting a portion of the line upward at a diagonal.

I was just happy for them…. This is very helpful ,I have always been interested in electronic, but have never had the time to study them. What is a circuit diagram? To make them more effective, all electronic components have been assigned much simpler symbols.

The symbols are connected with lines.

## HOW TO READ CIRCUIT DIAGRAMS

Conceptual meaning of terms have been introduced and applied to simple circuits. Making a Battery Clip Pluggable. Schematics distinguish between unconnected paths that happen to be drawn with lines crossing each other, and junctions where the line crossings designate a shared connection.

These are the basics and may even seem obvious or intuitive to you, such as the wires and if they are connected. Just saying not trying to be a nuckle Head.

In circuit diagrams, there are many electrical symbols that are used to represent different electrical components and devices. Such drawings provide a quicker mental picture of the actual circuit.

In less formal schematics, people dispense with the parts designators and list and just label the part symbol on the drawing itself with any necessary specs. This is an important point: Saying something like "A light bulb is connected to a D-cell" is a sufficient amount of words to describe a simple circuit.
